Terms of Service
Effective date: September 20, 2026
Tutor24Hour operates an online tutoring marketplace. Tutors provide services as independent contractors subject to these Terms, the Tutor Independent Contractor Agreement, applicable platform policies, and applicable law.
1. Marketplace role
Tutor24Hour provides technology for students to discover, book, pay for, and receive educational support from tutors. Tutors control their teaching methods and professional services. Tutor24Hour may set platform rules, payment workflows, safety requirements, and customer-support procedures.
2. Tutor independent contractor terms
Tutors who register must accept the Independent Contractor Agreement. Tutor accounts may remain pending until agreement acceptance, W-9 collection, Stripe Connect onboarding, tax-readiness review, and staff approval are complete.
3. Accounts, eligibility, and accuracy
Users must provide accurate information, protect login credentials, and comply with applicable law. Tutors must accurately represent identity, qualifications, degrees, subjects, certifications, availability, tax information, and authorization to provide services.
4. Bookings and payments
Students may be required to pay before accessing sessions, classes, solutions, digital content, or other services. Tutor payouts may be held, adjusted, reversed, or delayed based on delivery confirmation, fraud review, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, Stripe status, or platform rules.
5. Academic integrity
The platform supports learning. Users may not request, provide, or sell cheating, impersonation, plagiarism, unauthorized exam help, credential fraud, harassment, or unlawful content.
6. Privacy, tax, and compliance records
We may store account records, legal consents, agreement versions, audit logs, communications, payment events, W-9 collection status, and Stripe readiness status as needed to operate the platform, support tax reporting, investigate disputes, and comply with law.
7. Refunds, cancellations, and cancellation balance
Refund and cancellation outcomes are governed by the Refund & Cancellation Policy, checkout disclosures, delivery evidence, payment-source records, and applicable law. One-time Self-Paced Course purchases use the digital refund window disclosed and saved at checkout, including substantial-consumption and certificate safeguards; they do not use the scheduled-service 24-hour cancellation rule. Subscription cancellation ordinarily stops future renewal rather than prorating a billing period already in progress unless product-specific terms or applicable law require otherwise. Tutor24Hour cancellation balance represents eligible customer paid value returned through the platform ledger and is distinct from promotional credits, XP, points, badges, or rewards. Eligibility to return cancellation balance to an original payment method depends on the preserved source transaction and applicable payment rules.
8. Educational rewards and points
Points, XP, badges, streaks, rankings, and rewards are promotional and educational features only. They have no cash value, are not redeemable for cash, and may not be sold, transferred, withdrawn, or exchanged outside the Tutor24Hour platform.
9. Tutor24Hour text messaging programs
Where a user voluntarily opts in, Tutor24Hour may send transactional text messages such as tutoring updates, service confirmations, payment/dispute notices, security notices, and live-class reminders, and may separately send marketing texts only where separate marketing consent was given. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies and message/data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel text messages and HELP for help. Users may also manage SMS choices in notification preferences. See the Privacy Policy for information about mobile data and consent records.
10. Updates
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means acceptance where permitted by law. Material tutor contractor updates may require fresh electronic acceptance.
