Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 20, 2026
This policy explains how Tutor24Hour collects, uses, shares, protects, and retains student, tutor, payment, communication, and contractor-onboarding information.
1. Information we collect
We may collect account details, profile information, tutoring preferences, booking records, payment events, support messages, uploaded materials, device data, consent records, agreement acceptance timestamps, IP address, user agent, W-9 collection status, last 4 digits of TIN, and Stripe Connect tax-readiness status.
2. 1099 contractor onboarding records
For tutors, we collect information needed to evaluate eligibility, document independent contractor consent, support W-9 collection, maintain audit trails, and coordinate Stripe Connect onboarding. Full SSN/TIN data should be collected by Stripe or stored only in secure restricted systems; ordinary application screens store only limited tax-status indicators and TIN last four digits.
3. How we use information
We use information to operate accounts, match students and tutors, process payments and payouts, provide customer support, verify legal consent, prevent fraud, comply with tax reporting obligations, handle disputes, send transactional messages, improve services, and enforce platform rules.
4. Sharing
We may share information with service providers including hosting, payment processors, Stripe Connect, email/SMS vendors, analytics providers, fraud-prevention vendors, professional advisers, and legal or tax authorities where required. Tutor profile information may be displayed to students where appropriate.
SMS consent and mobile information: mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in records, and SMS consent are used to operate Tutor24Hour messaging programs and are not sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may provide this information to communications vendors acting for Tutor24Hour only as needed to deliver messages, process opt-out/help requests, protect the service, or comply with law.
5. Retention
We retain records as needed for platform operation, audit, tax, legal, accounting, dispute, safety, and fraud-prevention purposes. Agreement acceptance and payout/tax readiness records may be retained longer because they support legal and tax compliance.
6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, role-based access, private upload storage areas, audit logs, and limited-data practices. No system is perfectly secure, and users should protect their credentials.
7. Choices
Users may update profile details, communication preferences, and certain account settings. SMS enrollment is voluntary and is not a condition of purchase. Users may revoke SMS consent at any time through notification preferences or by replying STOP; HELP provides messaging assistance. Some records cannot be deleted immediately when needed for legal, tax, payment, fraud, or dispute obligations.
